The ratio of male to female workers in two companies A and B is 13 : 10 and 7 : 5, respectively. If both the companies have the same number of female workers, then what is the ratio of the total number of workers in A to those in B?<br/>

  1. 24 : 23
  2. 23 : 24
  3. 18 : 17
  4. 27 : 18

Answer

23 : 24

In company A, male : female = 13 : 10, so total parts = 23. In company B, male : female = 7 : 5, so total parts = 12. If female workers are equal, take them as 10 in both: then A has total 23 and B has total 24. So the ratio of total workers is 23 : 24.
