Whole chapter reading

  • NIOS History, lesson 26 ↗

Section 26.6, Problems of Development in the Post-colonial World; apply the source registry exclusions for NAM, Malaya, dated political generalisations and oversimplified chronology

  • Malayan Emergency ↗

Sections National Liberation War, Squatters, New Villages, Templer Takes Over and Independence

  • Biography of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah ↗

Early Years: overseas studies, African Students’ Organization, Manchester congress, return to UGCC, CPP formation and positive action; From Prison to Prime Minister through independence. Education, networks and mass organisation are linked; this Ghanaian case does not stand for every West African movement. Exclude later retrospective judgements and unattributed quotes.

  • History of Parliament in Malaysia ↗

Historical timeline entries 1946, 1948, 1955, 1956, 1957 and the independence date in 1963. Distinguish the Federation of Malaya in 1957 from Malaysia in 1963. Exclude current membership counts and the inaccurate description of the Cobbold inquiry as a referendum. Parliamentary narrative is paired with the military museum account, not treated as a complete national history.

  • World History Volume 2: Spanish North America ↗

The Mexican War of Independence: paragraphs on Hidalgo and Morelos, and the Sentiments of the Nation extract; Iturbide and the Plan de Iguala: coalition, guarantees, monarchy and transition to republic. Compare popular social demands with negotiated elite support. Exclude numerical army composition, the erroneous 300th-anniversary date and generic claims that all inequalities disappeared.

  • World History Volume 2: Spanish South America ↗

Opening independence aims; paragraphs on Napoleon’s invasion and regional juntas; Bolívar’s Letter from Jamaica, Haitian support and emancipation condition; San Martín’s Andean route, Chile and Peru; concluding paragraph on continuing hierarchies and regional struggles. Use a route map and political comparison, not a battle-number memorisation list. Exclude heroic anecdotes and any implication that Gran Colombia achieved universal suffrage or immediate abolition.

  • World History Volume 2: Portuguese South America ↗

The Portuguese Crown in Brazil: royal relocation and return; Pedro I and Brazilian Independence: 1822 break, resistance and war, 1824 constitution; closing paragraph on monarchy and continuing colonial social structures. Independence was not bloodless and did not abolish slavery. Exclude the closing claim that Latin American liberators received no significant external assistance, which conflicts with the Haitian-support account in 8.3.

  • India’s External Relations ↗

Afro-Asian unity: Bandung 1955 and Belgrade 1961 distinction only
